Manjula

It is very unfortunate that Manjula had never gone to school and she was engaged in begging by their parents. She has both parents. His father’s occupation is begging and sometimes he also works as a vendor in the trains. He is addicted to alcohol. The mother goes for coolie work. She has elder brother and sister who are dumb. They stay in Bangalore but are homeless, they live in tent.

They keep on moving from one place to another and engage his children in begging. Thus Manjula was spotted begging on Yeshwanthpur railway station and was rescued by our staffs. We traced her father and mother, who were staying at the Yeshwanthpur railway station. With their consent, she was admitted in our Rainbow Home on 11th Sept 2011.

At our Rainbow Home, she is studying well and now she is in 5th std, Govt. School, Jalahalli Village, Bangalore. She is healthy and showed keen interest in the studies. She mingles with other children and enjoying the studies. We had done lot of efforts in counseling her and bridging the learning gap. We see lot of transformation in her from the street life to the school life. Thanks to all the team for preparing such a level. She wants to become a police officer.
